Up or Down? The Great AC Debate

Up or down—the great AC debate lives on. Old cars, new cars, fan speed or thermostat… in the end, when the heat hits, everyone knows exactly what you mean.”

Recently, I noticed a big debate floating around the internet—and even in the NFL.
So I thought I’d weigh in with my take on it:

Do you turn the AC up or down?

For me, the answer is simple: do you want the temperature to go up, or down?

I get it, though—it comes from those older cars. You know the ones.
It’s the middle of the day, you step inside, and you’re instantly hit with EXTREME HEAT.
Like a slap in the face that sucks the air out of your body.

Hurry—turn up the AC!

Because in those cars, what you really wanted was the fan blasting at full speed.

But that’s not the case in today’s cars. Now they’ve caught up with your house.
You’ve got a thermostat that actually controls the temperature.

In the end, though, it really doesn’t matter what you say.
“Turn down the AC.”
“Turn up the AC.”

There’s no wrong answer when it’s hot—everyone knows what you mean.
At that point, it’s not about words. It’s about survival. 😅
