Life’s not about what you do—it’s how you do it.
So, do it well. And enjoy whatever you do.
Some of my best memories came from times I did—well—nothing really. Nothing special. No flights booked. No big budget. Nothing fancy. Just a good attitude and a willingness to be happy no matter the circumstances.
Isn’t it funny? We plan everything down to a tee, spend all this money, and sometimes… we’re just disappointed. It was fun, sure, but not great. And then we regret the money we spent.
Yet when I don’t plan anything, those end up being the best times.
Take this morning for instance. I had no plans. I got up, cleaned up, and grabbed the bike. I pumped the tires full of air and rolled down The Doodle Trail.

[👆Rolling the Doodle Trail, no plan—just me, the bike, and the wind in my face.]
(Disclaimer: plan for a workout—this trail has no shortage of hills. I always find myself walking more than riding.)
But it was the best.
Eighty-four degrees, feet on the pegs, wind in my face.
No expectations.
And it didn’t cost me a dime.

[👆Sometimes this is all you need—fresh air, open trail, and a little greenery.]
Along the way, I stopped at a couple of new spots they’ve built right on the trail—like Sip & Ride and Southern Weaving. Cool places where you can grab a beer, play games, and listen to live music.

Super cool for sure… but a little disappointing when I scanned the menus. Mostly heavy stuff like burgers and mac & cheese, when I was hoping for a healthier choice.
I rolled past The Silo’s too, another downtown Easley favorite. More of the same.

So, instead, I swung through Chipotle, grabbed a bite, and came home to write this article.
✅ Check. Another good day in the books.
