When I was a kid, my mother—of course—gave me advice. But like any kid, I didn’t really listen.
Or so I thought.
Looking back over all those years of childhood, there’s one thing she told me—over and over and over again:
You can do anything you want.
If you really, really want it—you can do it.
If you work hard and give it your best, you can achieve anything in life.
It doesn’t matter what it is.
Do you want to lose weight?
Do you want to make a bunch of money?
Or do you want to shoot for the moon?
It’s simple.
First, you must BELIEVE.
Then you get up every day, work hard, and go after what you want.
That’s the one piece of advice I’ve always remembered.
Thanks, MOM.
And if I know my mother like I think I do, she was whispering it in my ear before I could even walk—rocking me to sleep with hope.
When I think about this, I realize how lucky I’ve been to have a mother so wonderful. We didn’t have a lot. We weren’t fancy. And that was okay. After all, we didn’t do without.
We had a good foundation. A solid structure. A safe environment.
That’s all it was—and that’s all we needed.
Not everyone gets that.
What a shame.
But here’s the thing—it doesn’t matter.
Write this down:
I can do anything I want.
Look at it every day.
Read it.
Believe it.
If you tell yourself enough, guess what?
You can.
