Back to Work

Working in Pickens—it’s not such a bad place to be, right?

After being unable to physically work for a while, I’m back at it (kinda), and I’ve spent the last few weeks working on the old Aunt Sue’s house near Table Rock State Park.

The new owner, Kathy, has an incredible view!

Funny enough, I was friends with Sue’s son in high school, so I’ve been coming here for years.

If you’re in the area, make sure to stop by Aunt Sue’s Country Corner for lunch—and don’t forget to grab a scoop of ice cream!

Exciting trip ahead!

My sister and I are planning to hike to the top of Table Rock, but we both need to train beforehand—it’s a steep climb, so consider this your warning! I’ve hiked this trail several times before, but that was in my younger days, of course.

I’ll be sure to post!

*Update 3/30/2025

It’s sad. It’s so sad. Ten days after I wrote this article, Table Rock caught on fire and has been burning for over a week.

More than 1,000 acres burned as fire continues to rage at Table Rock
