This routine didn’t come from motivation. It came from needing something steady when everything else felt fragile. The books, audios, and quotes I return to aren’t about perfection — they’re about keeping my mind pointed in the right direction, one day at a time.

A pile of personal development and inspirational books scattered across a bed, representing daily reading and intentional mindset.

What I feed my mind matters more than I once realized.

A pile of personal development and inspirational books scattered across a bed, representing daily reading and intentional mindset.

What I feed my mind matters more than I once realized.

We Become What We Think About

Thoughts Become Things

Every day I like to listen, write, and read positive messages—books, articles, and quotes.

This routine didn’t come from motivation.
It came from needing something steady when everything else felt fragile.

These messages inspire me. They give me strength and hope. And from that, I gain the confidence, energy, and momentum I need to get through the tough days.

I don’t just read books about health and fitness, even though that is my main goal. I also read books about finance, religion, and even topics like The Big Bang Theory.

I’m fascinated by atoms, matter, molecules, and the energy surrounding us—and how all of it affects and controls the body.

As I read, I try to stay open-minded—grabbing what I need and disregarding the things I don’t.

Books about financial success, for example, are wonderfully positive. And I’ve found it’s easy to substitute the word finance for health or fitness in my mind.

It works so well.

One idea that really helped me understand why this matters came from Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza.

The Loop

Paraphrased from Becoming Supernatural by Dr. Joe Dispenza

Your thinking creates your feelings.
And your feelings, in turn, create your thinking.

In this way, you begin conditioning your body into the past.

The moment you wake up in the morning and search for the familiar feeling called you, you are starting your day in the past.

When you begin thinking about your problems, those problems are connected to memories of past experiences—different people, different times, and different places.

Those memories create familiar emotions:
unhappiness, futility, sadness, pain, grief, anxiety, worry, frustration, unworthiness, or guilt.

If those emotions are driving your thoughts, and you cannot think greater than how you feel, then you are thinking in the past.

And if those familiar emotions influence the choices you make that day—the behaviors you exhibit, or the experiences you create for yourself—then you will appear predictable.

And when life becomes predictable, it tends to stay the same.

That idea helped me understand why changing my mornings mattered more than changing my circumstances.

Below is a list of some of my favorite books, audios, quotes, and messages I like and recommend.
I’ve listed them in the order I like them—not because they’re perfect, but because they met me where I was.

Quotes

There are simply too many to list here.

So instead, I’ll be posting them individually on the blog under the category titled Quotes.

I don’t agree with everything I read.
And I don’t try to.

I take what helps, leave what doesn’t, and keep moving forward.

Bonus Tip

Years ago, early in my Myositis journey, things were hard.
It was the beginning—and I didn’t yet know how to steady myself.

I attended a work conference where I was given the CD MASTERPIECE by Larry Janesky. Like I said earlier, it changed my life.

The following year, I didn’t just have the highest sales in my office—I was also able to get into really good physical shape.

It was the light I needed at the time.

I owe a lot of that to track five, Something Different.
I still listen to it nearly every day.

And when I don’t, I notice it.
Sometimes I fall off track.

It’s a powerful piece.
It grounds me. It helps me refocus and reflect—so I can get back on track.

Thank you, Larry. I appreciate it more than you could ever imagine.
