It’s Time for A New Circle

Sometimes protecting yourself means walking away from people who aren't good for you. But what happens when you look around one day and realize you walked away from everyone? Maybe it’s time for a new circle.

I’m Lonely

I saw something on TikTok that is so profound.

I want to share it with you.

It’s from a guy I just started following recently, and I really like what he has to say.

This morning’s topic hit hard.

But, not like I think it was meant to.

It’s something I did a few years ago.

I distanced myself from, as it turns out—everyone.

Not because they were bad, but because they were bad for me.

I realize now this is why I’m lonely.

I did it to myself.

Here is what he had to say:

Your Circle is voting on your future.

Every person in your circle gets a vote on who you become.

Not because they control you.

Because behavior is contagious.

Spend enough time around people who complain and eventually everything starts looking unfair.

Spend enough time around people who drink every weekend and sobriety starts looking boring.

Spend enough time around people with ambition and discipline starts looking obsessive.

The opposite is true too.

Get around people who pray, train, build, keep their word, and take responsibility…

And your standards begin to rise without anyone giving you a speech.

Here’s what most people miss—

your circle doesn’t have to pressure you directly.

It only has to normalize a certain way of living.

I’ve had to ask myself if people in my friend group are helping me grow to become the man I want to become.

You don’t need friends who are identical to you, but you do need people whose lives remind you that becoming better is possible.

When it comes down to who you surround yourself with, choose very carefully.

As it turns out, I chose too carefully.

And now, I’m alone.

Yet, I don’t think I’m alone in this loneliness.

I think lately, the whole world feels lonely.

We all want something better for ourselves. So, we stop being who we were, and instead of being someone different—with someone different—

now we are just alone.

I think it’s time I started a new circle.

Are you looking for a new circle? Hit me up. Let’s hang out.

Enjoy your weekend,
Stu. 🎈
