An Aha Hiding in Plain Sight
Have you ever had one of those aha moments?
The kind where you suddenly realize you’ve been doing the wrong thing for way too long?
Every morning I wake up feeling lethargic—lazy, tired. I don’t want to do anything until I get my cup of Joe.
And even then, I still don’t really feel like it.
Why?
Shouldn’t I jump out of bed, ready to conquer the day?
Nope.
That’s not how it works.
Most mornings I wake up with cotton mouth, ears ringing, and when I go to the bathroom, I see yellow.
Why is it so yellow?
Why do I have cotton mouth every morning?
Yeah—you know why.
I’m dehydrated.
It’s my body’s way of saying, Hey dude, drink more water.
Is this the source of my tinnitus? Probably not.
But it does lessen the noise.
It’s no mystery—hydration plays a crucial role in our overall health and well-being.
It boosts energy levels. It helps transport nutrients and oxygen to our cells.
When we’re properly hydrated, our bodies function more efficiently, and we feel more alert.
It also helps prevent a wide range of symptoms—fatigue, headaches, difficulty concentrating.
Yet somehow, it might be the most overlooked part of good health.
I’ve also learned that adding supplements to water—like creatine monohydrate and amino acids—may help maximize strength, recovery, and overall fitness. And yes, come to find out, it can be helpful for people with myositis too.
Don’t take my word for it.
Talk to your doctor.
When combined with exercise, the benefits can support muscle function and recovery.
All of this got me thinking—
Why don’t I skip the coffee first thing and drink a big glass of water with amino acids and creatine instead?
Every morning.
First thing.
Here’s a novel idea: what if I actually drank more water the day before?
Hello.
If I did, how much better would I feel? I could spend those first few moments replenishing my body instead of dragging it into the day.
Maybe I’d actually conquer it.
Maybe.
Tomorrow, I think I’ll double-shot it—
a big glass of amino acids first, then coffee.
First thing.
Every morning.
