Sometimes hope starts with something as simple as putting your sneakers on. 🎈

Sometimes the body already knows the medicine.

This morning, I was catching up on current events when I stumbled across a “new” study.

The Hope Molecule.

My whole life, I’ve known that when I exercise, my body produces endorphins that somehow make me feel better.

No secret there, right?

These hormones are triggered during activities like exercise, eating, or even sex.

But today’s video was different.

It talked about the hope molecule — myokines — proteins released by muscles during exercise that help reduce anxiety and depression.

Wait a second…

You mean when I exercise, I’m getting a double dose of feel-good chemicals?

How cool is that?

Evidently, myokines play a significant role in improving both mental and physical health. They help support overall wellbeing and even act like a natural antidepressant.

They also help foster neurogenesis.

Now, neurogenesis is some scientific mumbo-jumbo that basically helps with memory and learning.

Myokines also strengthen the immune system and help combat disease.

Amazing.

Our bodies are incredible.

These days, everyone is so quick to take a pill… when sometimes all we really need to do is what our bodies were already designed to do.

Here’s a novel idea:

Let’s exercise.

Get out there.
Walk.
Run.
Flex those muscles.

Go grab those sneakers. 🎈
