I Gave Myself Some Grace

On quitting a job that wasn't right, and learning that stepping back isn't giving up — it's grace.

Stu sitting where the magic happens.

I Needed a Rest

The past few months have been the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I've been all over the place!

From high to low, to low to high, and then back again.

A complete ride.

I feel like I just got off a scary roller coaster at Carowinds. 😆

It's been good.

Physically, this year, I've been really good.

Good enough that I went back to a real job, with real work.

I did it—kinda.

Months ago, when I decided to give it a try, I wasn't sure how my body would respond.

Would I relapse? Could I even do it?

Well.

I did.

And yes, I did have setbacks. I won't get into the details, again.

Last week I decided to quit and throw in the towel. 😑

At least that job. Maybe I'll do something else in the future?

It's okay. I didn't give up. I gave it a shot.

It just didn't work out. It's not the right job.

I'm trying to give myself a little grace.

After all, I think I deserve it.

So what if I can't stand up for 8 hours loading parts in a machine? Not everyone can.

I was pushing myself too much. And that's okay. I gave it a real try.

I wanted to know.
I needed to know.

I did that.

Yet, it was time.

I spent the last three days driving for Uber. And immediately I noticed a huge change. I felt better with each day.

I went back to stretching and working out — nothing crazy, just my little routine in my living room.

It felt so good.

I relaxed.

It feels like the right decision.

I didn't give up, I gave myself some grace.

I think I deserve a round of applause. 👏
